The men who sat in the darkness of the truck wore dark clothing, and camouflage colors blackened their faces.
From time to time, the light of a cigarette tip glowed. The monotonous roar of the motor was heard in the quiet desert,
a cold wind whipped through the faded tarpaulin, which covered the back of the truck.
The rifle barrels gleamed in the dark. The commander sat next to the driver. It was the first large operation
that he and his friends had planned, and although he was under great pressure, he could not conceal his satisfaction.
It was the first large operation in which the two undergrounds cooperated.

Not too many hours later, BBC Radio broadcast the following report:
"The Israeli Underground announced that tonight, for the first time, the two Israeli undergrounds,
ILO (Israeli Liberation Organization) and the IFF (Israel Freedom Fighters), cooperated. In a complex and daring operation,
the troops of the Israeli underground broke into the Ansar camp in the south of the country. It was further told that the camp
was overpowered without the forces being discovered and that in fact, until the morning hours,
nothing had been discovered. During the night, the forces completely overran the Ansar camp, and many hundreds of prisoners
from the camps, some call them the Palestinian death camps, were stolen away and the camp was left completely
empty by morning. Only the corpses of guards were left behind. The spokesman for the Israeli underground
estimated them at about 200 Palestinian policemen and guards. This daring raid was very intricate,
not only due to the quiet overrunning of such a large camp, but also due to the daring to squirrel away many
hundreds of prisoners and disperse them by morning among the Jewish population, without being discovered by
the Palestinian police or army. Later today we shall bring more details."

At a later hour, the BBC broadcast more details, as follows:
"Apparently the members of the Jewish underground, along with the liberated prisoners, returned to the Dan Region,
where most of the Jewish population in the State of Palestine is located. They returned in a large army convoy disguised
as a Palestinian convoy transferring equipment and supplies to the center of the country, together with additional prisoners
to the site of the building of the Pyramid. In Beer Sheba, the convoy was stopped by the Palestinian Military Police,
but the convoy's traveling pass and its size, consisting of several tens of trucks, did not cause the Palestinian policemen
to cast any suspicion.

By daylight, many hundreds of Israeli war prisoners had been dispersed and secreted in the homes of the former
Israeli citizens across the Dan Region. A very complex operation in itself, especially in light of the fact that travel
outside the Dan Region is not permitted at night and that Palestinian policemen question night drivers as to the purpose
of their travel. It was further stated that this was one Ansar camp out of five, but apparently it was the most significant
camp since it was one of the largest and it was the one that held security prisoners of the highest ranks.
During this raid, a vast plunder of rifles, ammunition and even several armored carriers were taken. This was accomplished
despite the fact that the Israeli undergrounds have never lacked weapons of any kind.

This operation is a severe blow to the prestige of the Palestinian Army.
In an interview to the press at about noon, the spokesman for the Palestinian government expressed it thus:

"We are sorry that this criminal operation took place. We shall do everything in our power to catch and punish
the criminals. We shall overturn every rock and every stone in order to catch and punish them. Any Israeli citizen
caught harboring an Israeli prisoner in his home, will have his home be destroyed and shall be placed on trial,
with the death penalty."

On the following day, the two undergrounds issued a joint poster with the following wording:

"The exiled Israeli government, together with all the Hebrew undergrounds, liberated hundreds of our imprisoned brothers
from the Ansar death camp. The time of our salvation grows near. The Palestinian State is crumbling before us and we shall
help it to soon pass from this world.

Citizens of Israel, do not fear the threatening Palestinian enemy. The day is not far off that we shall scare our enemies
far beyond the borders of our country, Israel.

We shall place our trust in the Lord, he shall help to guide us from darkness to light, and from shadows into great radiance".
